..116 Days Until Race Day
After 100 miles at the Snowdrop Ultra 55 Hour Race & Relay and tearing down the equipment, loading, unloading and all of the other duties that come along with presenting an event, today was a rest/recovery day.
No dedication today, only an introduction.
Meet Beans (if you follow Trish Snider Kline then you already have met the little man).
We adopted Beans (that was the name his foster mom gave him and we decided to keep it since it’s already his 2nd name and he’s had a hard 5 months of life already).
He’s a rescue. 4-5 months old. Came from a breeder who got over-extended and couldn’t keep up with the demands of having so many dogs. I’ll save the details of his prior living conditions, but, suffice it to say, they were considerably worse than what he’ll have the rest of his life.
Beans has nothing to do with my Ultramilano-Sanremo race and he doesn’t have anything to do with Snowdrop Foundation and our mission for pediatric cancer patients. So, why am I making day 59 about him?
Because Beans is now a member of the Snowdrop Foundation Family (he’s already the most popular, I’m sure) and as a rescue, Beans is getting a 2nd chance for a better life.
A 2nd chance for a better life…the same desire as kids with cancer.
Training resumes tomorrow, so, who will you meet then?
