…95 Days Until Race Day
Benjamin is a long-term cancer survivor at the age of 21.
Diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) when he was 3, Benjamin’s treatment lasted 5 FULL YEARS.
Just because he is 18 years removed from his diagnosis, doesn’t mean he hasn’t had any long-term effects though.
Because of his battle with cancer, Benjamin, who is a Snowdrop Foundation scholarship recipient, has short-term memory loss, gait changes, late effects on his heart and effects on his bones and teeth.
Today, I had to switch my schedule as Monday is a usually a boxing day. Due to meetings today, tomorrow and Wednesday, I’ve had to shuffle things around to get them to fit this week.
Today’s run was an hour at aerobic pace. I started out with tightness in my right leg and had to alter my gait (i.e. Benjamin’s post cancer issue) until it loosened up. Once it did, I felt great.
Thanks for being my running partner today, Benjamin.
Who will you meet tomorrow?
